Important Announcements for November/December

Mon Dec 12: Field Trip to Amadeus Choir Concert at Roy Thompson Hall

Discuss which rules are similar or dissimilar to those from another country that you have lived in.

You don't want to miss our annual year-end free concert with reserved seating for MicroSkills. Please do not arrive any later than 11:30 or you will definitely be with the crowds standing in line. As seating is limited and on a first-come basis, coming before 11:30 does not guarantee a place in reserved seating. Those going from Don Mills Station are welcome to grab this map.

Please note that the concerts are suitable for children aged 6 years and up.

Day of the concert:

 The concert begins at noon, lasting approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.

 When you arrive, please check in with an usher. The ushers will seat your group.

 Please arrange to have lunch prior to arrival or after departure. Please note that food, beverages and gum are not permitted in Roy Thomson Hall.

 Concert etiquette serves to provide the best possible listening environment for you, your fellow audience members and the performers on stage. Your group’s consideration for fellow patrons and performers will ensure everyone’s full enjoyment of the live performance. Please observe proper concert etiquette throughout. Patrons may be asked to leave the auditorium if they are disturbing others.

 Cameras, cell phones and video games are not permitted in the auditorium.

Friday Dec 2: Field Trip to CBC Sounds of the Season Donation Drive
Check out last year's fun!

Merry Christmas! How long can you look at this picture without blinking?
It's time again for one of our favourite year-end trips. Bring a merry heart and a tin of canned food to donate to CBC's studios downtown. Those going from Don Mills Station are welcome to grab this map. You may arrive there at any time (see the schedule), but let's not miss taking a group photo there at 10:30 a.m.

Friday Nov. 4: Homework Day (Teachers' Training)
Check in on Friday morning for the homework assignments for the day!

Friday Nov. 11: Field Trip to Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Toronto Zoo! Queen's Park -

Queen's Park

Remembrance Day is a special time for all Canadians, and this year's ceremony venue of choice for us is the Toronto Zoo provincial capital at Queen's Park.
Those leaving from Don Mills can feel free to avail yourselves of this map.

Let's meet at 10.30 a.m. at the statue of King Edward VII on horseback in full military regalia

Wednesday Nov. 16: Field Trip to Free Concert at Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre

Always a hit, those who arrive at this free dance concert on time, no later than 11:15 a.m., can enjoy MicroSkills-reserved seating and not have to line up with hoi polloi out in the cold!

Those leaving from Don Mills Station can feel free to use this map, please.

Friday Nov 25: Field Trip to ESL Book Sale and Black Friday Sale Downtown - NEW PLAN!!

The American crazy sale ... Ok, the Canadian Black Friday sale might be a bit tamer.

Great ESL book sale at TESL Ontario Conference in Sheraton Centre!
Meet at 11 a.m. on the Second Floor of the Sheraton Toronto for a quick visit with the book sale of the annual TESL Ontario Conference, followed by Eaton Centre for a window-shopping spree!

To get to the Sheraton Centre from Don Mills, here is your map.

Be sure to take pictures and notes for the trip report!
