Today, we wrap up our discussion on credit cards. Have a look at the following cartoon:
So, guys, how's this funny?
  1. Read quietly, and then discuss the following with a partner: How do I check my credit history?
  2. Listen, and then role play with your partner: Bad credit
  3. Watch this episode of Till Debt Do Us Part with CC on. Take notes on:
    1. What were some of the problems the couple faced?
    2. Who showed up at the door?
    3. How much money did they owe?
    4. How much were they overspending per month?
    5. What was the solution?
    6. Did they succeed in getting out of their debt in the end?

Wednesday's Assignment

Good morning! This morning, please sign up first for next month's field trip to a job fair downtown. There will be public presentations on September 17 that you should register for online.

Back to the topic of credit cards, what are some rewards that banks give you for using their credit card? Tell a partner about yours and compare your card's rewards with other people's. Then check out this table:

Isn't it great when the alumni join in? Do you see Mahsa, Sutharsan, Edgar, Sara, Mehran, Majid, Mahsan, Nishi, and Wendy?

What an amazing field trip it turned out to be, with two classes there and perfectly cold weather--in the teens Celsius--but we all got our fill for fun, fruit, and food (check out John's feasting on an earful in our FB site)! Thanks be to Almighty God for the sunshine, rain, and fertile soil that we enjoy in what was Upper Canada, what we now call the Province of Ontario!

For your report writing, here are some words that you may like to use:

Thursday's Assignment

Sometimes you ask for the police when you dial 911. What do the police carry in your country of origin? Are their weapons lethal? Today, we look at some of the weapons used by the police in Canada in an emergency.

Do you recognize the uniform in the picture? Look up the term "taser" in Google Search, Images, and Video.
Here are your tasks:
  1. Roleplay: Getting Mugged
  2. Watch this video. Take dictation of only the officer’s words: 2:55 - 3:25
  3. Discuss with your classmates the reasons for the woman’s arrest. Compare that taser arrest with this one in Vancouver airport, made the headlines.
