Halloween 1517
  1. First, something contemporary: role play with a partner this Halloween exercise on Scary Things.
  2. Second, we go back in time to the Halloween of 1517, the greatest Halloween of all. Watch this Video (focus on 3:00 - 15:30): Why is it so important in history? Take good notes. Discuss your answers with a partner.
  3. As we celebrate and give thanks to God for the freedoms in our new land of Canada, let us not forget those who are not so free in some other countries (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4). Write an email to a friend comparing Canada with another country, have two partners check it, and then post it on your blog.

Monday's Assignment


Today, we begin a new week on Canadian celebrations, in particular, Thanksgiving and Halloween!

But first, let us complete any work left over from last week, e.g. a trip report on our picnic to High Park. Also, don't forget to use your editing checklist to clean up your writing. Have at least 3 partners help check your work using the editing checklist.

Before Shankari's information session at 10 a.m. today on "Healthy Skin, Oral, Eye n Ear Health," here are your tasks:

Field Trip Thursday Oct 2: High Park


A lovely day for all, an unnumbered delegation of LINC students, their kids, and even alumni, guests, and student teachers descended upon High Park and took in the glories of the season. Seneca TESL student Paul pulled out his tackle and demonstrated the art of fishing. He also led the tour through the spacious recreational grounds. Students shared their food, and alumna Cheyenne worked a barbecue.
