Monday's Assignment

Welcome back! Hope everybody's feeling well this week, when we'll be considering the topic of healthcare practitioners!

Where do you go to fill your prescriptions? What's your favourite pharmacist? Do you also buy milk, eggs, chocolate, hairspray, and greeting cards there?
Here are your tasks:
  1. Vocabulary: At the Pharmacy
    1. Write down some new words.
    2. Use them in sentences, and have a partner check them with you.
  2. Role play: Consulting a Pharmacist 
    1. Practise aloud by yourself.
    2. Practise aloud with a partner.
    3. Record on audioboom.com.
  3. Write a brief report on Friday's field trip.
    1. Interview and quote at least one of your classmates who went.
    2. Include a picture of the field trip.

Please make your own arrangements with your classmates to get there by car pooling or on the TTC.



Be sure to pick up your lunches and meet near the entrance of the Marketplace for a group photo, around 12:20 p.m.

Monday's Assignment

Welcome back!



To begin with, copy the following questionnaire onto your blog and answer the questions:

What do you want to study in LINC? Directions:
  1. Add additional topics to this list. 
  2. Then prioritize the topics by putting them in the right order--the most urgent and important ones at the top. 
    • Medical issues (going to the doctor and hospital, phoning an ambulance, and staying healthy by eating well and exercising)

Write one sentence on what you hope to be able to do in the next 3 months in each of the four skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. This list of skills may help. E.g. Finally, write a short report about your break last week. Did you make any new friends?

Good morning! The first thing we're going to do today is to follow-up on all the interesting, useful, and varied idioms from the Dictation Triptych on Rec Jobs.

So here are your tasks:
  1. Identify 10 most useful idioms and create a sentence with each one, a sentence that brings out the meaning most clearly.
  2. Using a different work situation, e.g. a restaurant or grocery store, use those sentences in a conversation between a manager and a worker. Feel free to insert interesting details of your own.
