Our LINC program has been sponsored by Canadian taxpayers through the federal government on an annual basis. Through the LINC program, you have the opportunity to meet friends, go on field trips, learn some grammar and vocabulary, use the editing checklist, join the Tuesday conversation circle, practise the four language skills using computers and the Internet, make speeches in class, etc.
The purpose of the program is to help you improve your English communication skills and your settlement in this great country. Hopefully, most of us will wake up every day feeling a bit more Canadian than the day before.

My reason for choose LINC class is I have plan go to university and I have to improve my writing be eligible.

Field trips give me the favourite memory. For example: last thursday, I went to a Job Fair at North York Memorial Hall, 5110 Yonge Street, Toronto, just below North York Central Library with my classmates and teathers, and we visited the second largest library in toronto-- North York Central Library. It is my first experience about these.

My listening and speaking is very poor ,So I need more practices for those aspects.

I have been LINC class for more one month, I think the class is useful for improving skills of LSRW , moreover, I can get many useful informations about living, job,recreation, etc.

We went to a park near my class at the lunchtime on April, and played many games. It was very funny.

ReplyDeleteWhen I came to Canada I don't any think about this Country and I had allot of problem with language, so I came to LINC class for learning English and after a few time i understood that LINC not only for learning English but also you can learn more than abut Canadian Culture, Canadian Lifestyle and some think about jobs in Canada.
In LINC class I fined some good friend from different culture and different countries and learn allot from them.

I have been to the LINC class for almost three weeks. I think my speaking and listening better and better.I hope I can speak English fluently in the coming year.

Nothing can be share because it's too short time that I am in the LINC class .

My name is MeiZI.I have 5 years olds' daughter.She is SK. She was bone Canada.She speaks English very well.But my speaking don't good.We argue every day. because I can't understand what she says.i have to lern English.But very difficuilt.

ReplyDeleteI have lack of communication and one main reason is I am looking for IT professional Job so I want more knowledge about reading, writing emails, listening, and speaking.
2) What things made your needs complicated or special?
The main things are lack of talking, writing skills, and listening.

I got good things in LINC class. Those are stage fear, writing skills and talking with others in English. Up to last year I don't know how to write big big stories in English now I am perfect to write some stories.

My favorite memory from LINC class is my first editing comment. I got comment from Joseph your before and after version good keep it up. That time I didn't know exactly about that comment that's why I thaught oh with in two weeks I got good performance comment from Joseph but that comment related to editing checklist. Then I realised Ok no problem atleast I got one small comment from Joseph. That's the favorite memory in my class. Thank you so much Joseph for giving this feedback opportunity.

The special thing in Nepal it is very difficult to find job and also problem with Government.

I am coming to LINC class for listening speaking writing and computer knowledge or grammar. I have been in linc school for two years and seven months, so I think this linc school is very good because the teachers are very good and I learn many English, improve computers skills and grammar.

I memory from LINC class, last December we made Christmas party with Waldi and classmates we enjoyed a lot.

When I introduced my self, teacher corrected my pronunciation of some words.These word is very familiar for me. I think it is very important to be careful of pronunciation.

At the end of the movie named Fire Proof, the affecting story almost made me weep. I'll never forget this experience.
Before I came to Canada I learned English and much enjoyed. When I came to linc classes I have learned many things, but all have been dispersed. My reason for coming to linc(I mean, all linc) I can talk and when I go into the community to communicate with others. I'm very hard on this case.
ReplyDeleteAnother problem is that I feel my classmates not care about these classes. I think the government should be for each level, and determine the appropriate time. Learn English together in the right direction, and students were progressing. If we want to improve this problem so we should have a proper planning.
My English speaking and listening have some problems. And I heard the LINC class can correct my pronunciation heard from my friend who was working in Canadian immigration agency. So I got my English level test in YMCA and entered into LINC class. That is really great. After two months learning in Class 4. I found my listening and writing ability improved a lot. The Class of LINC have many fanny story during English lesson, especially my teacher, Mr.Joseph NG, always design the class to improve reading, listening, writing and speaking English ability with funny canton stories, also he taught us knowledge needed in Canadian working and daily life. As one newcomer, the class is really good and interesting place. I like to study in this class.

ReplyDeleteTo come to LINC program is a good chance to practice my language skills especially pronunciation. LINC program provides a good environment for us to talk English each other everyday. And also I am glad to make some new friends here. Everyone knows that it is hard to practice English at home, but LINC is different. I like the instructor Joseph. He gives us a lot of interesting assignments to read and talk. He also provides chances for everybody to give a presentation. The trips he arranged are my favourites so that we could enjoy the Canadian life.

I get improvement gradually. The class Level 4-5 is good class. We get along well with each other. We have a good teacher-Joseph. He teaches us many ways for learning English. I like his teaching method. The processing becomes interesting and impressive.

every time to go out is a beautiful memory of my mind.
I used to study at the LINC after I was landed here. I knew it would be hard to find the job if you can't communicate with the local people. By the time my friend gave me a job in the Chinese restaurant, I quit the school because I need money to support my family. I thought I can learn English by myself since I lived in Canada. The fact is that I was wrong totally. After four years, I still can't speak anything just look like the newcomer. Struggling with myself some weeks, I decided to go back to LINC. At the school, students are forbidden to speak their original language and our teacher encourages us to give the presentation frequently. I have been learning here for one month and I hope to improve my English level soon.

I starded to learn Englisg at lever 1.Myspeaking, listening,and reading have improved veru much.In fact,I have learnt more Canadian knowleages and English'skills from Mr. Joseph. It is important for us.There were a lot of trips and outside training in this class. ReplyDeleteI learn four skills of English in Linc class,especially speaking is improved more.I want to work very well in English.There are a lot of people who came from different countries.I meet many friends.there are a lot of laughably things.I enjoyed to learn English in our class.there are different outdoor trip.I can learn muck more things in the trips.
I found "Micro Skills" very coincidentally. I've heard from a friend, there is an English class that it has a day-care for taking care of the children to let their parents study English.
ReplyDeleteThat was a good news for me, and I registered my name immediately. At the beginning, it was enough for me. Very soon I realized that it is not only a simple English class, but also I learnt many computer skills along my learning English in a short period of time. Here, I would like to appreciate a very clever and hard-working man named "JOSEPH". I spent very useful and happy time in his class beside finding good friends, and I got self confidence by his encouragements.

I have been at LINC 4-5 class for four months. I spent wonderful time with my classmates and my teacher. When I came to this class, I even say anything in English. I'm lucky to meet such a excellent teacher Joseph, humorous and intelligent person. He applies many flexible teaching methods. I learn how to use blogger, chirbit and community resources. I know how to communicate with others in different ways. I improve rapidly, especially my listening and speaking skills. Now, I'm promoted to Level 5-6. I feel it's difficult for me.I even think of giving up. Joseph encouraged me to keep up. I'm gradually adapting to the new class.I appreciate Joseph very much.Thank you.

DeleteI used to learn English at LINC 3 level class after we came to Canada. Only one month, I quit because I found a job and I thought that I could learn English by myself because I'm in Canada. I overestimated myself. As a result I couldn't communicate with anyone except Chinese who speak Mandarin. I'm so lucky I had a chance in Joseph's class. He opened the door in front of everyone. Gradually, I became confident and apprehensive. Be more Canadian! He always uses this sentence to encourage us. I thought that is my goal. Thank you, Joseph!
