For our radio listening exercise, here's an excerpt from 680news this morning.

1. Listen once through, keeping an eye on the handout.
2. Listen again, stopping and rewinding as necessary to fill in the blanks.
3. Check with a partner. And fill in the blanks in a different colour.
4. Take a picture of your completed sheet.
5. Publish your handout on your e-portfolio (blog).

Good morning! Welcome back!

This morning we have two main things to do:

1. Read up on Class Policies and Your Online Learning Companions. You can click on the links or look up at the bar of pages at the top of this blog.



Don't take too long to finish, like this guy. When does he finish writing his report?

1. State your response and suggestions to the Class Policies under its Comments section at the bottom of the page.
2. In the Learning Companions page, copy all the questions under "About Me Section" onto your blog and begin answering them on your blog. For some of the questions, you may need to answer them at the end of this week!
2. Write 10 sentences about your March Break. Organize the sentences into paragraphs either logically or chronologically. To help you think of what to write, use WH questions like What, Who, When, e.g. What did I do on Tuesday?
1. Use the editing checklist to check your own work first.
2. Offer your new friends to check their work, but introduce yourself first.
3. Publish your work and mention who helped you to check.

Thursday's Assignment

Did you enjoy the trip yesterday? Did you take some nice pictures? How was the potluck?

Guess what the next public holiday is!

Here are your tasks:

1. Write a trip report for yesterday's outing. Use the Editing Checklist as well as get two partners to correct.
2. There’s a public holiday this month called Good Friday. Why is Good Friday called Good Friday? Is it to welcome the warmer season? Is it for families to go on a picnic? Discuss with a partner. Then:
1. Watch this video (5:50 - 7:50). Listen again, and put the sentences in the handout in the correct order.
2. Take dictation from this child’s telling of Easter. Publish your transcript with its video link on your blog.

Field Trip Wednesday March 9

For our encore ski trip this year, please meet at Earl Bales Ski & Snowboard Centre at 10 a.m.

As before, those taking a lesson should have on their gloves and snow pants. It might be good to bring some snacks, too, in case the cafeteria isn't open.

Those who are not skiing can bring along their hot drinks and potluck to enjoy, as well as cameras to take fun pictures of the skiers.

Feel free to do some inline skating, snowshoeing, casterboarding, or skateboarding for free!

Field trip of IEP Conference<<Title Case
Last Friday, our class went to the 13th IEP Conference downtown. I went there by subway. I took route<<Line 4 first, and then changed to route<<Line 1. I got off at the Union Station. There were many exits, and I felt confoused with them. When I reached at Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC), I found that it<<I was at the South Building of MTCC. But the Conference was in the North Building! I followed the signs,<<and passed<<took a<<the path which connected <<the two buidings. The path was on level 4,C.S. I could see railways and CN Tower though the beautiful purple and yellow glasses of the path.
Finally, I arrived +at the Conference. It was already 10:20 A.M..<<a.m. After the registration, I met some of my classmates in the lobby. I listened to the Engineering Session with Helen Huang, and went to the marketplace for job informations. I learned that it was very important having<<to have the licenses and a Canadian education experiences. After that, we enjoyed the<<a light lunch and took some happy pictrues together.
